Artificial intelligence in School Curriculum
Artificial intelligence advances day by day. It is the ability of a computer program or a machine to think and learn. The role of Artificial Intelligence in education is a hot topic. AI is now a part of our lives whether we know it or not, and hence it is important to introduce our students to concepts around this. We’re always looking for ways to help our kids learn better, especially in the tech distraction age. As the world is advancing with new technologies like Artificial intelligence, Robotics, IoT we need to equip our students with these emerging technological knowledge from a young age itself. There are lots of advantages of introducing artificial intelligence in schools not only for students but also for the teachers and schools as well. Introducing such topics at the right age can help the students to improve their technical skills and critical thinking that enhance their learning experience. To prepare the students for the digital world, deep knowledge about how the technology works and is being created is very crucial. The goal of this program is to build a large understanding of AI among teachers and students. Artificial intelligence covers a broad range of domains and applications and is expected to impact every field in the future.
Cybersquare is an innovative online education platform for kids, school students to learn computer programming through the most engaging methods like games, puzzles, etc. Along with coding skills, this helps students to develop 21st-century skills like critical thinking, logical reasoning, analytical skills, problem-solving skills, etc. This also provides the foundation of artificial intelligence. Cyber Square is being implemented in schools as part of their curriculum, adopted as their computer subject. This initiative will help the students to develop their skills and acquire confidence in their new abilities.
Dayapuram Residential school, Calicut is the first school in India to start teaching artificial Intelligence from Class 2 itself. Dayapuram school also introduced coding from Grade 1 onwards in association with cyber Square. This CBSE School adopted Cyber Square course Curriculum and online learning platform for teaching computer subjects for all its students.
As part of showcasing student’s projects and talents, cyber square conducted digital fest in Habitat Schools UAE and Dayapuram School. Habitat School conducted its first digital fest in 2017 where 100’s of students participated and showcased their creativity and this got huge media attention.

Dayapuram School had hosted a session on Artificial intelligence by Mr.Rajeev MA, Enterprise Architect & Head, TCS AI lab Kochi, Tata consultancy service as a part of the launch of Digital season, a platform for students to learn digital technology and work on digital projects. In the Digital season students who actively participated and presented their projects in previous Digital Fest received the certificates from Mr. Rajeev. Rajeev mentioned that introducing AI in the school level is a great move that our nation really wants, to help younger students to prepare for the digital world.

Dayapuram School conducted its Digital Fest on 20th December 2019 as part of adopting Cyber Square curriculum. Students from Grade 1 to 9 participated in Technical presentations and tech projects. There were projects from the field of Internet of Things (IoT), Drones, Games, Websites and Web Applications. There were 30 projects developed by students and they showcased & explained their product to the public during the festival.
